Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legal agreement between you and ihavenodebt (“ihavenodebt”, “we”, “us” or “our”) and govern your use of our website and mobile application (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

The service — not financial advice

ihavenodebt is a personal debt-tracking tool that helps you record and visualise your debts and payments and estimate payoff timelines. It is not financial, legal, tax or debt advice, and we are not a lender, broker, debt-management or debt-counselling service. All figures, projections and recommendations (including payoff dates, interest estimates and strategy comparisons) are illustrative estimates based on the information you enter, and may differ from amounts charged by your actual creditors. You are responsible for your own financial decisions, and you should seek advice from a qualified professional where appropriate.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure, for all activity under your account, and for the accuracy of the information you enter. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
• interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the Service;
• copy, reverse-engineer, resell or commercially exploit the Service except as permitted by law;
• upload content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

Plans, subscriptions and billing

We offer a free plan and a paid “Pro” plan. The free plan includes core tracking with certain limits (such as the number of debts you can track). Pro unlocks additional features. Current features and prices are shown at the point of purchase.

• How you are billed: Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription. On the web, payments are processed by Stripe; on the Android app, payments are processed by Google Play. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• Cancelling: you can cancel at any time — through the billing portal on the web, or via your Google Play account for app purchases. When you cancel, your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed afterwards.
• Refunds: except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. App-store purchases are also subject to the refund policies of Google Play. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
• Price changes: we may change prices from time to time. Any change will apply to future billing periods, and we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect.

Referrals

We may offer a referral programme (for example, “give a month, get a month”). Rewards are granted only when the conditions we describe are met — for instance, when a referred person signs up with your link and verifies their email. Referrals must not be used in a fraudulent, automated or abusive way. We may change, limit or withdraw the programme, and reverse rewards obtained in breach of these Terms.

Your data and content

The information you enter remains yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display it in order to provide the Service. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from Settings.

Intellectual property

The Service itself — including its software, design, branding and content we provide — is owned by ihavenodebt and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own personal use in accordance with these Terms.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties such as our hosting providers, Stripe, Google Play and our email provider. Your use of app-store and payment services may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations and projections will be accurate or suitable for your circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any financial decisions you make based on the Service or its projections. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or to protect the Service or other users. We may also modify or discontinue the Service, or any feature, with reasonable notice where practicable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country in which you live.
